NaNoWriMo Alert

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this bad boy. Nothing much to report. I've been working a ton and playing some games left, right and centre.

Also, next week is the beginning of NaNoWriMo - which I am taking part of. I can't decide whether or not that's a good idea or not.

We shall see.

Anyway, I plan to do some more vlogging soon so keep an eye out for that!

A sickly week

I haven't updated for a week now. I can imagine why. As I mentioned in the last post back in the while was that I was feeling poorly and unmotivated.
I had also spent most of my week at work doing late shifts and still trying to overcome this bug that has infected me.

Nothing much in the regards to latest news either. Aside from the lone mention that the Nerdemic will hopefully get it's butt into gear and a team (including me) will bring it back to full glory.
I already have a plan to publising the site over here in the UK but am unable to do such a manueur yet until the following conditions are met.
1. The site design is revamped to be the desired appearance the team wants
2. If I actually get myself to become the Nerdemic podcast host.

Regarding the fact of becoming the host. I don't know how I feel about it. People seem to think that a British host on a mostly American based audience would go down really well but I'm still quite ambigious. Never the less once everything settles down and things start getting back to the way we want them, then things will seriously start rolling back in!

Nerdemic! It's coming back!

A doodle

I never like "Drawing". I always feel like I can't do a good job when I'm actually tasked with creating something onto paper. However, I do enjoy Doodling and find that half of the things that I doodle actually come across quite good. So, this is something that I did during my lunch break at work yesterday.

In general I had a stressful day on Sunday. To start with I was sick and not in the best of moods to manage a retail outlet, and then when I got there I realised that I wasn't left much in the safe to work with for the day's trade. (However that was because the day before was that shop's most busiest day to date!)

So in the long and short of it, my staff and I were just barely surviving throughout the day with minimiumal change.

So this doodle was decicated to Emma, our youngest staff member and how I explained to her what should happen when presented with a customer who is eager to exchange a £20 note for a 59p item.

Enjoy.

The InFamous 2 Question

The inFamous 2 Question

*Warning! This article contains some big spoilers for the end of inFamous 2! Do not read if you have yet to finish the game. Thank you*

I have to say that the inFamous video game series has to be one of my favourite of all time. Not just because of the fluid action and sandbox game play, but because of the great lengths the developers went to make such a compelling and deep storyline which borders on the possible.

So to those who are unaware about the inFamous games, you play as Cole MacGrath who after a massive explosion finds himself with the power of electricity. It turns out that Cole is a Conduit, basically a superhuman and that it was a genetic thing. So for all we knew, we could be a Conduit and never know it.
Cole’s main mission throughout the length of both games was to fight this approaching threat called “The Beast” yet as the second game draws closer to the end, you soon realise that things are more complicated then they appear.

A fatal plague sweeps across the world, it soon comes to light that Ray Field radiation is the cause of the plague which kills humans but spares Conduits. (A Ray Field Machine is a device that sucks human energy inside, creating a large explosion and activating any Conduits who were caught up in the blast radius)

And at the end of the game, you have two final choices.
Use a device called the RFI and eradicate all of the Ray Field Radiation in the world...but kill every single Conduit as the side effect...Or destroy the RFI and use your powers to doom mankind and convert as many of them to Conduits before the plague kills them all.

Given the sheer amount of pressure Cole is under from the beginning of the game series to be strong enough to take down the beast, I found this decision almost impossible to decide upon...I did not want to die, but I did not want to doom all of mankind...But then I would be killing every single Conduit as well, yet saving millions more.

My thought process was long and stretched and in the end, I decided on one choice...

As the person I am...I believe in the usage of sacrifice for the greater good...The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and so I sacrificed all of those Conduits and myself to save mankind...

Now tell me, as I’m extremely curious to YOUR answer...What would you have done? Doomed yourself and saved the world, or doom the world and rebuild it in your own image...?

The Wanderer Project - Day 3 - Day 11

I shook the hand of an idol and hugged a wonderful actress

I have been in London today since the early hours of the morning. Gary and I were set upon a journey to go to the London Entertainment Expo abd see some top Sci-fi stars.

Okay. Maybe it was just me as Gaz wasn't nearly as interested in Sci-fi then I was. But alas we pushed on! I must say that I'm particularly surprised with myself today as I handled myself.

Basically I met two of my most favourite Sci-fi actors/actresses. I shook hands with Joe Flanigan. (John Shepard from Stargate Atlantis) Plus I got a cuddle from Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper from Torchwood) as I pretty much whispered in her ear how much I loved her.

True story!

Here are a few shots that Gaz took as I met the stars and I should have more photos when I get home
